in person

Bonjour ! I am a French native instructor, born in Morocco, who grew up in France before relocating to the United States in 1982. Over the past 25 years I've had the joy of teaching French across just about every setting imaginable — from Pre-K classrooms to university lecture halls, corporate professionals to leisure learners.

My teaching philosophy grew straight out of my own experience. I learned English in school, but it only gave me "book knowledge." I had to basically learn it all over again on my own. That journey shaped everything about how I teach: I focus on practical, communication-first instruction so you walk away with French you can actually use.

A life lived in many places

I've been lucky enough to live in France, Africa, Canada, and Japan, and I've raised seven children along the way. Today I call San Diego, California home. When I'm not teaching, you'll find me visiting France as often as I can, knitting, taking long walks on the beach, and spending time with my family and pets.

Learning, with joy

More than anything, I want lessons to feel good. I have always found so much joy in teaching others and showing them that they can learn and have fun at the same time. When learning feels light, you keep coming back — and that's the real secret to fluency.
